Spotted owlet
Sighted on: 10.December.2025
The highlight of the week was a pair of Spotted Owlets seen during our Nature Walk. Despite their cute appearance, Spotted Owlets are efficient hunters. Their diet consists mainly of insects such as beetles and moths, but they also prey on small mammals like mice and shrews, as well as lizards and bats. By keeping rodent and pest populations in check, they play a vital ecological role, making them valuable allies to local farmers.
