Great Cormorants
Sighted on: 18.February.2026
This week, during our birding-by-boat experience, we witnessed an extraordinary moment. As the morning mist lifted from the water, I watched a captivating scene unfold between a pair of Great Cormorants.
The male courted the female tirelessly, approaching her with gentle persistence. For nearly fifteen minutes she resisted, keeping just out of reach. Then, in a beautiful turn of events, he presented her with a fish — an offering that finally softened her resolve.
In that simple gesture, trust seemed to blossom, and together they soared into a new chapter.
Nature never ceases to inspire.
