Little Tern
Sighted on: 24.February.2026
The highlight of the week was the smallest tern with the biggest attitude.
During our Birding by Boat experience at Kabini, we watched the Little Tern hover like a tiny helicopter above the backwaters… eyes fixed, wings beating rapidly… and then — a perfect dive. Within seconds, it emerged with a silver flash of fish in its yellow bill. Precision. Patience. Perfection.
While many come seeking the giants of Kabini, sometimes the real magic lies in these small, swift hunters of the sky.
