Kalidasa nymph

Our guests were in for a rare treat during the Night Trail. They got a very good look at the ''Kalidasa lanata'' - a species of hemipteran insect in the genus Kalidasa of the family Fulgoridae found in South India. The Kalidasa nymph has a slender and flexible stalk-like growth rising from above the tip of the snout. Our guests were fascinated by it and spent much of the Night Trail admiring its body's beautiful black and red patterning.
