June 2024 - Week 2 Roundup

Tusker

Sighted on: 11.June.2024

The backwaters of the Kabini are the stomping ground of some of the most magnificent tuskers found anywhere in India. One individual stood head and shoulders above the rest, aptly named Mr. Kabini or Bhogeshwara; he dominated the landscape until his death. His magnificent tusks converged at the tips as they almost touched the ground. During the boat safari this evening, we came upon a worthy successor—another magnificent male elephant with tusks that were a close second to the mighty Bhogeshwara.
