White-bellied sea eagle
Sighted on: 26.March.2025
The highlight of the week was the sighting of a white-bellied sea eagle at the Kabini backwaters. Usually found on the coast, they occasionally venture further inland. White-bellied sea eagles have been spotted sporadically in Kabini over the years. When seen, it has been observed that they spend a considerable amount of time at the backwaters before leaving as suddenly as they appeared. Any sighting is an occasion for celebration.
