Indian roller
Sighted on: 19.November.2025

During the Nature Walk this morning, we had a wonderful sighting of an Indian roller. A strikingly beautiful bird, it immediately captivated our guests — until they learnt how it got its name. Indian rollers are known for their territorial nature and perform impressive aerobatic displays, especially during the breeding season, which include steep dives, rolling flights, and dramatic turns.
They are most commonly seen perched on roadside trees, wires, or in open grasslands and lightly wooded areas, often alone or in pairs. The species has adapted well to human environments and is frequently spotted near agricultural fields and even in urban spaces..
