Chital

Sighted on: 15.Oct.2024

During the boat safari, I noticed a chital feeding on water hyacinth. Water hyacinth is an invasive species, and most wildlife avoid feeding on invasive plants. This observation of a chital feeding on such a species provides a glimmer of hope, as invasive species often dominate local ones, creating an imbalance in the ecosystem. Since few herbivores consume invasive plants, this behavior is significant.
