Malabar Giant Squirrel

We were lucky to spot one of Kabini's most vibrantly coloured mammals today - the Malabar Giant Squirrel. It was seen nibbling on the bark of the Mathi tree, also known as the Crocodile bark tree.

Grey-headed Fish Eagle

Winter has arrived in Kabini, and with each passing day, as the water level recedes, we are treated to enchanting scenes along the riverbanks. Among the highlights of today's boat safari was the spectacular sighting of a gigantic Grey-headed Fish Eagle perched on a tree stump with a freshly killed fish.
